Annoucement

We’re Moving to Two Sunday Services

God has been filling our sanctuary. At a time when many churches are closing their doors, Evermore is welcoming new faces every week. Over the past three years we have celebrated 90 baptisms and welcomed 80 new members into our church family. That is worth rejoicing over, and it also means we need to make room. To welcome everyone God is bringing to us, the pastors and elders have decided to add a second Sunday worship service.

The New Sunday Schedule

Starting September 13th, Sunday mornings at Evermore will follow this format.

First Worship Service

9:00 AM

Children’s Sunday School and Nurseries

74 and Ambassadors Sunday School

Adult Sunday School Classes

Electives and other classes

Second Worship Service

10:15 AM

Kings Kids and Nurseries

Children’s Church every Sunday

Why We’re Making This Change

As we heard in last Sunday’s sermon, God’s heart is for the lost to be found (Matthew 28:19-20, Acts 1:8, 2 Corinthians 5:18-21). His agenda must be our agenda. We cannot allow ourselves to get comfortable. We must make room for all people to join us in the family of God.

Adding a second service was not a quick decision. We took time to pray and to discern God’s will, and we listened. We met with members of the congregation, gathered several congregational focus groups, and talked with the different departments within the church.

After many times of prayer and discernment, the pastors and elders have decided to move to two services. The new format closely mirrors what we already do on Sunday mornings, and both our Children’s Ministries and Worship Ministries have affirmed it. We expect a few minor adjustments along the way, and we appreciate your grace as we settle in together.

What This Means for Us

1

Same Worship, Two Times

On most Sundays the 9:00 AM and 10:15 AM services will be the same.

2

A Familiar Rhythm

Children’s Sunday School, nurseries, and adult classes run alongside both services, with Children’s Church every Sunday during the 10:15 AM service.

3

A Few Exceptions

Some Sundays, such as baptisms or parent-child dedications, will look different between the two services. We will let you know in advance whenever that is the case.

Thank you for your patience

To God Be the Glory

We know this has been a long process, and we are grateful for your patience and your input along the way. We praise God for His guidance and direction. If you have questions about the new schedule, we would love to hear from you.
