Who We Are

As a church we value having hearts for God, minds for the truth, knees for prayer, mouths for encouraging, hands for caring, and feet for going. We are called to go and make disciples of all nations (Matthew 28:19), extending God’s Kingdom through evangelism and acts of service bringing healing and hope to the world through the power of the Holy Spirit.

OUR VISION

To know and glorify God through the Holy Spirit!

We worship the father in spirit and in truth (John 4:23), responding to Him with awe for who He is and with thanksgiving for His extravagant love.

OUR MISSION

To love and lead all people to a life change through Christ Jesus!

We desire to be transformed by the renewing of our minds (Romans 12:1, 2), providing quality Christian education and training through preaching, teaching and mentoring in order that people might come to know Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord and grow into healthy, functioning Christians.

Core Values

  • We desire to know God through studying the word, prayer, and fellowship with believers.
  • Glorifying God the Father is the motive for our ministry.
  • Salvation is by faith in Jesus Christ who died and rose again
  • All effective ministry is led and empowered by the Holy Spirit.
  • The Bible is inerrant, infallible, and the foundational truth by which we live our lives
  • We strive for holiness through righteousness, obedience, and death to self.
  • We hold to the truth in love through accountability and grace.
  • We work to build and change our community by serving each other and our community.

We will be devoted to one another in love (Romans 12:10), caring for each other by following the example of Jesus through loving, accepting, and serving one another.

Statement of Faith

God

We believe God is the one holy and loving God who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit eternally. God is truth, he is holy, he is sovereign and he is omnipresent, omniscient and omnipotent. He is self-sufficient. God is creator of everything including us as men and women who are created in his image. God is just and perfect. God is love and he desires for us to know Him on a personal level.

Genesis 1, 1 John 4:16-21, Jeremiah 31:31-34, Psalm 99, Psalm 116

Jesus

We believe that Jesus is God’s one and only son who was both man and God. Jesus was born of a virgin and was both God and man. He came to earth to show us how to live and we seek to follow His example in everyday life. Jesus was the perfect sacrifice who died upon a cross to pay the price for our sins and rose on the third day conquering death so we could be saved. He is the head of the church and through Him all things are made.

John 3:16-17, John 1:1-18, 1 Corinthians 15:50-58, Colossians 1:15-20, 1 Peter 1:13-21

Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit was given to us at Pentecost so that God could live within us. The Holy Spirit is our guide, our nurturer and comforter. When the Holy Spirit lives within us we exhibit the fruits of the spirit. The Holy Spirit gives us spiritual gifts to help us carry out the call God has given us. The spiritual gifts are to be used for the common good of the church.

Acts 2, John 14:15-31, Galatians 5:16-26, 1 Corinthians 12

Scriptures

We believe the Bible is the inspired, inerrant and infallible Word of God and is all sufficient basis of doctrine and practice. The scriptures are absolute truth that guide and direct us in our everyday lives. It is God breathed through human writers and we are called to be obedient to what God has written for us. We believe that God inspired both the New and Old Testament.

Hebrews 5:11-6:2, Hebrews 4:12-13, 2 Timothy 3:16-17, 2 Peter 1:14-21

Sin

We believe that original sin entered through the disobedience of Adam and is something that we all deal with. Sin is disobedience to God and leads us away from Him. A life of sin leads us to a road of destruction which ultimately leads to hell; a place of eternal torment that is reserved for those who deny God’s free gift of salvation.

Genesis 3, Romans 3:23, Matthew 25:31-46, Romans 5:12-21

Salvation

We believe that salvation from our sin comes from the life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Jesus took our place and paid the price so we could be saved. The Bible says, “Repent and believe and you will be saved.” We are reconciled to God through Christ and we seek to live in community with each other. Jesus is the only way to eternal life. We are saved by God’s grace not by our own merits. When we trust Jesus as our Savior we seek to live for Him and follow His example.

John 14:6, Acts 4:8-12, Acts 16:31, Ephesians 2:8-9, Mark 8:34-38

Church

We believe that the church is the body of Christ that is a voluntary group of believers joined together and devoted to one another in loving community. Christ is the head and we are the members seeking to carry out His call into the world. We seek to be like minded and live in unity with each other. Missions and outreach are very important tasks of the church as we seek to go out and share the gospel in Jerusalem, Samaria and Judea and the very ends of the earth.

Colossians 1:15-20, Matthew 28:19-20, Romans 12:4-5, Acts 1:8

Baptism

We believe baptism is an outward sign of an inward commitment to Christ. As Jesus was baptized we are to follow His example. Baptism identifies us with Christ’s death and resurrection as the sinful nature dies and we are raised anew. It is a public sign that a believer has accepted Jesus as their personal Savior, been cleansed from sin and received the gift of the Holy Spirit. The mode of baptism can be varied.

Romans 6:1-4, Acts 2:38-41, 1 John 5:7-8, Matthew 28:18-20

Lord's Supper & Foot Washing

We believe the Lord’s Supper is a reminder of what Jesus did upon the cross establishing a new covenant with us. Foot washing is a reminder that we are to be servants to each other as Jesus was a servant to all and to remember what the Lord has done. We do this in remembrance of him per his command.

1 Corinthians 11:17-34, Philippians 4:5-12, John 13, Luke 22:7-22

Church Leadership

We believe in the priesthood of all believers that everyone can go directly to God. Pastors and elders are called from the church to help give leadership in the tasks that God calls us to.

Romans 12, Titus 1:5-9

Discipline

We believe that when conflict or sin arises we seek to be a community of reconciliation of the person to God, their family and the church. Discipline is done in the midst of the covenant of church membership. We will use the instruction of Matthew 18 as our guide.

Matthew 18:15-18, 2 Corinthians 5:11-21

Discipleship

We all desire to be more like Jesus in our everyday walk with Him. We are commanded to go and make disciples. We seek to follow the Bible in everyday life and live a life of obedience to God. We want to walk alongside of each other in discipleship to help guide us on the journey of faith. We take very seriously the call to pray, read our Bible, fast along with other spiritual disciplines to help us know God more.

John 15:9-17, Acts 2:42-47, Galatians 5:22-26, Matthew 28:18-20

Stewardship

We believe all we have belongs to God. God has blessed us with time, talents and resources to be used in His Kingdom. We seek to be cheerful givers in every aspect of our lives.

Genesis 1:26-30, 2 Corinthians 9:6-15, Matthew 25:14-30

Live in Peace

We believe that God calls us to love our enemies, pray for those who persecute us and to overcome evil with good. We are instructed to live peacefully with everyone. We seek to be good citizens by following the laws and praying for our leaders unless this comes in conflict with our ultimate loyalty to God then we will follow God rather than man.

Romans 13, Acts 5:29, Matthew 5:38-48

Marriage & Family

We believe that God instituted marriage and family as the foundational basis for human support and expression of love. We believe marriage is to be between a man and a woman with all other expressions of sexual intimacy to be outside of God’s design. We will support parents as they raise their families in the way of God by offering counsel, teaching and guidance from a biblical perspective.

1 Corinthians 13, Matthew 5:31-32, Genesis 3, Romans 1:24-32

Second Coming

We believe that Jesus is coming again to gather the faithful unto Him. No one knows the time but we see “signs of the times” that help us remember to be ready. We believe that the gospel must first be preached to all nations before Jesus returns. We believe in heaven and hell and that every person will spend eternity in one of these places.
